The Lewis Family - A Lynchburg, Virginia Maternity Session

Jason and Essence have been married for almost 10 years. Now they’ve entered a new chapter of their lives together. This pregnancy was one that I was so excited to document because Essence and I have been friends since college. She was one of my bridesmaids on my wedding day, and I cannot wait to meet this little one of hers!

Essence told me from the beginning that she wanted a little bit of a different look for the first half of her session. She told me that she was planning to whip something up herself and she’s always had great style, so I was eager to see what she came up with. Tashicka Rock of Rock Steady Beauty brought the look to life with the perfect makeup application! And I love that the studio portion of Essence’s maternity session just brought a whole other vibe. If this doesn’t give strong, powerful motherhood vibes, I don’t know what does.

After we wrapped up the first look, Essence switched out her lip color and changed into a maternity gown for the second half of the session. Jason, Essence, and I met downtown for some couple portraits on the monument steps. First, we wanted to capture a few of just Essence in her second look. She was serving it up! And I enlisted Jason’s help with the train of her gown.
