North Carolina Wedding Venue Tour: The Orpheum at Oxford

With everything that’s gone on this year, it’s no surprise that wedding planning looks a little different this year. So, I thought this was a good time to share some virtual venue tours with couples who are looking for the backdrop for their wedding days. We’re kicking it off with a trip to Oxford, North Carolina at The Orpheum at Oxford.

If you’re planning a wedding in the Durham area, this venue is one you’ve got to see! Nestled in the heart of Oxford (about 30 minutes outside of Durham), this venue is a restored theater from the early 1900s. Step inside the main doors, and you’ll be surrounded by beautiful views for your ceremony and reception. The main floor can be flipped from ceremony to reception with room to comfortably accommodate 200 guests. I mean, I know you can just picture your first dance, swaying under these gorgeous chandeliers!

The mezzanine is one of my favorite features of this space. This multi-tiered balcony is the perfect location for your cocktail hour and for your DJ during the reception.

For the groom and his groomsmen, the day will actually start right through the doors at the back of the balcony. There’s a separate entrance so that the groomsmen and bridesmaid stay separated. The bridesmaids have their own entrance at the front of the building and the walls are adorned with exposed brick. There’s a wet bar, bathroom, and a separate space for hair and makeup. The space also includes a space for the bride and bridesmaids’ dresses. The cubbies under the bench are a great place to store all the things when the getting ready portion of the day gets a little crazy.

Nestled between the grand hall and the mezzanine is this sweet little bonus space. This would be a great space to display your guestbook, framed bridal portrait, and a photobooth for guests. This space can handle your overflow of guests from the balcony during cocktail hour. Love the green accent wall and the unique lighting fixtures!

Last but certainly not least, you’ll find this sweet bar space in the entrance of the venue. Look at these light fixtures and the detail in the bar. If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue with character throughout, visit The Orpheum at Oxford.
