Four Years With Autumn Noémi

On Saturday, we celebrated Autumn’s 4th birthday! If you follow my Instagram stories, (and if you don’t, you should! let’s be friends.) you know that our morning started off with me decorating the door to her room with streamers and balloons. She was thoroughly confused about how to get out!

My husband also surprised her with a Moana costume and she was so excited to wear it! My in-laws came over to celebrate with us and, of course, I took her outside for a mini birthday session. She picked flowers, ran around, and had a blast while we waited for my husband and father in law to come back home with lunch.

My husband and I stopped by a local bakery during our anniversary day date two weeks ago so that we could place an order for Autumn’s birthday. The only request she had was chocolate, and my husband told them that we were going with a Moana theme. Let me tell you, The Cupcake Shoppe outdid themselves!

The cupcakes were PERFECT and delicious! My mother-in-law and I aren’t even big chocolate cake people and we both loved them! If you haven’t already visited The Cupcake Shoppe, you definitely should!

We also got some friends and family together to sing “Happy Birthday” to her via Zoom before opening gifts and having several “balloon parties” at the birthday girl’s request. Her grandma got her some blue light glasses to protect her eyes during screen time. And we ended the day filling in some of her answers in the Promptly journal I’ve kept to document her childhood.

I hope you enjoyed this peek at Autumn’s day. I loved using this space to mark time in Autumn’s life. So, I’m going to make a habit out of it. Every month on the 15th, I’ll share a few of my favorite moments with Autumn since the last post. I’m calling the series With Autumn Noémi. Thanks for reading!
